Participation at the IRTC24 Conference

The project was present at the 2024 International Round Table on Materials Criticality (IRTC) that took place from the 21st to the 23rd of February in Turim, Italy. IRTC is an international network of experts in critical raw materials and combines experts from different areas to discuss the topic in an annual conference.
Our post-doctoral researcher, Dr. Luíza Cerioli, presented the project and its research perspectives at session six, entitled “New Ideas on Critical Raw Materials,” chaired by Yulia Lapko (Politecnico di Milano), Akanksha Tyagi (CEEW India), and Patrick d’Hugues (BRGM). Her presentation titled was: “The Dark Sides of Sustainability: extractivism, Global Asymmetries and Perspectives on Transitions” stressed the importance of taking politics seriously in discussions about energy transition, green growth, decoupling and governance and strategies for decarbonization.
