BIOGRAPHY
Ramon Pichs-Madruga serves as Vice Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III. He has been director of the Centre for World Economy Studies (CIEM) in Cuba since 2013. He is also an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Havana. Moreover, he has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Inter-American Institute for Research on Global Change (IAI) from 2007 to 2013 and a member of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba since 2012. He has a degree in Foreign Trade Economics from the University of Havana, a master’s in social sciences from the University of Lund, Sweden, and a PhD in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
