Julieta Godfrid has a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her research interests span both Sociology and International Development. She is a postdoctoral researcher funded by FONDECYT (National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development, from Chile) at the Autonomous University of Chile. Her current research focuses on corporate social responsibility, socio-environmental conflicts and state-firm relations in Latin America (particularly in Argentina and Chile).

Her current research focuses on corporate social responsibility, socio-environmental conflicts and state-firm relations in Latin America (particularly in Argentina and Chile).

CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROJECT

Julieta Godfrid is an expert in the research areas of natural resource governance, business strategies, and socio-environmental conflict. She studies these issues in an interdisciplinary way, especially in different regions in Latin America characterized by mining. As a fellow, Dr. Godfrid studies mining companies, their relations with local communities, and their socio-territorial impacts in Chile. She also connects sustainability, sustainable development, and environmental law at different socio-political scales.
