Contribution to the project

Hartmut Elsenhans is a renowned expert on the politics of the Middle East, particularly Algeria. His theory of state class, which explains the political behavior of decision-makers in rentier societies, is one of the analytical starting points of our project’s research. His approach to rent enriches the analysis made by Extractivism.de and connects it to developmental theories and Global Political Economy.
