On 16 October 2026, fellows of the Extractivism.de program based at the University of Kassel visited their colleagues at Philipps University of Marburg.

The meeting focused on getting to know one another, exchanging initial research ideas, and preparing for the upcoming writing workshop. To that end, the fellows presented draft abstracts for their chapters in a joint edited volume on the power of extractive states.

A shared lunch and a walk through Marburg’s old town up to the castle provided further opportunities to continue the discussions.
