He is also a Research Associate at the Centre de Recherche en Économie Appliquée pour le Développement (CREAD, Algiers) and at IDHES/CNRS (France). His current research focuses on the emergence of green entrepreneurship and the actors involved in Algeria’s energy transition. It examines the emergence of new economic actors and their contribution to energy transition and economic diversification objectives, with particular attention to the role of public policies, institutions, and support mechanisms. He holds a PhD in Sociology of Organizations from the University of Béjaïa, obtained in 2017, and a Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR), obtained in 2021.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROJECT

Rabah Noui contributes to the Extractivism project by providing an empirical and theoretical analysis of the Algerian case, with a particular focus on the economic and institutional transformations associated with the challenges of the energy transition. His research examines the emergence of new actors in green entrepreneurship and the renewable energy sector, as well as their trajectories, relationships with institutions, and integration into national and transnational networks. By drawing on the sociology of markets and the analysis of economic transformations, his work contributes to the comparative dimension of the project and to a better understanding of the entrepreneurial and institutional dynamics accompanying the energy transition in emerging economies.
