Biografía
Martin Beck completó su formación académica en Tubinga, doctorándose en Ciencias Sociales en 1994 y obteniendo posteriormente la habilitación y venia legendi en Ciencias Políticas en 2001. En la actualidad se encuentra en excedencia de su puesto de catedrático de Relaciones Internacionales y Estudios de Seguridad en la Universidad del Kurdistán Hêwler (UKH) para ejercer como suplente de la cátedra de Política de Oriente Medio en la Universidad Philipps de Marburgo. Además, Martin Beck está asociado a la Universidad del Sur de Dinamarca (SDU) y trabaja como asociado en el German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA). Anteriormente ha trabajado en diversas universidades, institutos de investigación y think tanks de Europa (Tubinga, Hamburgo, Bremen y Odense), Estados Unidos (Denver, Colorado) y Oriente Medio (Palestina, Líbano, Jordania e Irak). Sus investigaciones se centran principalmente en las relaciones internacionales y la economía política, en particular el conflicto árabe-israelí, la política petrolera regional, los Estados rentistas, las políticas de securitización y la política mediterránea, con especial atención a las migraciones.
