Participation BRISMES Conference: Exploring and Contesting the (Re)Production of Coloniality in the Middle East – Borders, Transnationalism, and Resistance

Meret Jacob-Lakrimdi, our PhD student at Philipps-University Marburg, participated at the annual conference of the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies (BRISMES) that took place from 4th – 6th July at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Meret Jacob-Lakrimdi presented her research on Moroccan youth on the panel “Active Citizenship, Everyday Agency and Resistance against Political Structures”. The conference also counted with three keynote speakers: Professor Amira K. Bennison (University of Cambridge), Professor Raymond Hinnebusch (University of St. Andrews) and Dr. Heba Raouf Ezzat (Ibn Haldun University).
